USSF Space Systems Command Announces Partnership with Sedaro and Celeris Systems for an Enhanced Spacecraft Digital Twin Platform
ANAHEIM, CA., August, 2023 - Under a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase II contract, Celeris is set to support prime contractor Sedaro with Digital Engineering (DE) support for an enhanced spacecraft digital twin platform. Together, the companies will deploy and authorize Sedaro's advanced cloud-native digital twin platform, Sedaro Satellite, within the Space Systems Command (SSC) Cloud One environment. This state-of-the-art platform will pave the way for the development of authoritative digital twins for the GPS-IIIF space vehicles and the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), revolutionizing the way we model and simulate spacecraft and constellations. The platform's comprehensive capabilities, ranging from built-in physics simulations to integrated GNSS simulators, promise to enhance operational performance, reduce prototyping costs, and expedite satellite deployment.
With Sedaro's platform, SSC aims to establish a new standard in satellite engineering workflows, ensuring seamless transitions from conceptual designs to operations. “Sedaro Satellite's Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Module stands out, allowing for end-to-end digital twin simulations of complex GNSS architectures.” said Rob Enrico, Vice President of Space and Missile Systems Division for Celeris. “Furthermore, in collaboration with Orolia Defense & Security, we plan to demonstrate Sedaro Satellite GPS digital twins and the PNT Module's capabilities in simulating GPS space dynamics and potential threat agents. The successful realization of these developments under the proposed Phase II scope could lead to a sole-source Firm Fixed Price contract award for Sedaro Satellite, accelerating the platform's integration into operational environments and enhancing our engineering capabilities.” said Mr. Enrico.
SSC remains committed to the pursuit of cutting-edge technological advancements, with the Test and Evaluation Branch for the MilComm and PNT PEO (SSC/CGE) spearheading this endeavor. As trusted space systems engineering experts, SSC/CGE possesses the unique authority to procure space-based capabilities tailored to the specialized missions of the US Air and Space Force.
