CELERIS SUPPORTS SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF GPS III SATELLITE SPACE VEHICLE (SV-03)

June 30th, 2020 The United States Air Force successfully launched the second Global Positioning System (GPS) III Space Vehicle (SV) from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. This is the third GPS satellite model of its kind to launch into orbit and SpaceX’s second time launching a GPS spacecraft. Called GPS III SV03, it’s part of a block of satellites known as GPS III, designed and built by Lockheed Martin. GPS III satellites have three times better accuracy and up to eight times improved anti-jamming capabilities.

Under subcontract to SAIC, Celeris Systems had the honor of supporting this mission with the following Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) services:

Satellite requirements & interface verification

Mission Readiness Campaign scheduling

Test asset utilization & de-confliction

Satellite Developmental Evaluation Framework (DEF) Mission Readiness

Independent Enterprise Assessment of mission readiness

Post launch on-orbit checkout activities

SE&I relied on our digital engineering platform, iRIS, to support these activities throughout all phases of mission readiness.
