On November 5th, 2020, the United States Space Force successfully launched the fourth Global Positioning System (GPS) III Space Vehicle (SV) from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. GPS III SV04 is the latest next-generation GPS III satellite Lockheed Martin designed and built to help the U.S. Space Force modernize today’s GPS satellite constellation with new technology and capabilities, including three times better accuracy; up to eight times improved anti-jamming capabilities; and a new L1C civil signal, which is compatible with international global navigation satellite systems, such as Europe’s Galileo, to improve civilian user connectivity.
Under subcontract to SAIC, Celeris Systems had the honor of supporting this mission with the following Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) services:
Satellite requirements & interface verification
Mission Readiness Campaign scheduling
Test asset utilization & de-confliction
Satellite Developmental Evaluation Framework (DEF) Mission Readiness
Independent Enterprise Assessment of mission readiness
